Annual SMLC Bat Count

We’re excited to host our annual Bat Count again! Please join us at the Conservancy Farm for this longstanding tradition to count the Big Brown Bats flying out of the red barn. The bats sleep during the day and emerge at dusk to fly off through the Superior Greenway for their nightly insect hunt. The more eyes we have watching, the more accurate our count will be. Bring your lawn chairs, snacks and drinks, and blankets or pillows if you like. No pets, please. Be prepared for mosquitoes and evening temperature drop. All participants will be expected to maintain6-foot social distancing from other households, or wear a mask if unable to do so.
