About this event
Please join us at Crosswinds Marsh on Sept 19 and Sept 25 to help support work to restore habitat for the blazing star borer moth (a Michigan Species of Conservation Concern) and other rare prairie species. We’ll be planting hundreds of dense blazing stars (Liatris spicata) and rough blazing stars (Liatris aspera), the host plants for the blazing star borer moth and a favorite nectar plant for many native pollinators.
These events are a collaborative effort between Wayne County Parks, The Nature Conservancy, and the River Raisin Institute. We’ll be working on uneven ground so please wear sturdy shoes. Bring water and work gloves if you have them. We will provide other gloves and all other tools. We hope to see you there!
