Moss and Lichen Hike with OORC

Moss – It loves the cool spring weather – OORC is presenting a moss hike and a lichen hike – BOTH AT ONCE! It’s April 15, 2023 at 12:30 pm. Site – Badger Barrens in Oak Openings Metropark.

We’ll meet for the hike on Jeffers Road, north of the Horse Riding Center. The GPS coordinates are: 41.543260, -83.858130 the meeting place is between Reed Road and Route 64. The physical address for the Horse Riding Center is 5716 Jeffers Rd., Whitehouse, OH 43571. There is parking along side the road, but please make sure your entire vehicle is off the road. Metroparks requires all four tires off the road when you are parking. There are no restrooms at this site, but the Horse Riding Center does have restrooms. 

Please bring a hand lens if you have one. We will try to have some extras. Please also RSVP by replying to: oakopeningsconservancy@gmail.com. We would like to have an estimated count of people attending. We hope to see you on Saturday!
