Our Downtown Marsh

Come out for an early preview of Manhattan Marsh, which will soon become one of our newest Metroparks. Join Natural Resources Supervisor Denis Franklin for a walk around the 70 acre site and learn the details about how the Metroparks plan to turn this degraded marsh into a functional wetland and learning laboratory for both the public and the students at the Chase STEM Academy. While it is already a decent birding location, this former estuary of Swan Creek has incredible potential to become a real focal point for the revitalization of this community. Parking is available in the Chase Academy lot at 600 Bassett St. Meet Denis at 9 a.m. We’ll be out until about 11:00 a.m.
