Planting, Nurturing, and Pruning Native Shrubs and Trees

As we strive to improve our environment by including more native trees and shrubs in our home landscapes, there are techniques we can use to help these plants succeed in an “unnatural” environment. Margie Black, a longtime nature lover, will share information on good, practical horticultural practices that she has learned over the years to help native trees and shrubs succeed. Included will be what to consider before choosing a type of tree or shrub, proper planting and watering techniques, and pruning to achieve healthy, attractive and successful specimens.

After many years of successfully working for and then owning her own landscaping business, Margie currently works as a landscape consultant (including for the Metroparks) and has her own private gardening business.

This is our monthly program meeting, free and open to the public. Please join us!
