At the end of a long, cold winter, the discovery of a woodland wildflower’s first radiant bloom is something many of us look forward to. “Spring ephemeral” wildflowers are unique plants that possess many adaptations which allow them to thrive in the well-lit woodlands for short periods throughout the spring season. This presentation will highlight different spring wildflower species that grow in the woodlands of northwest Ohio and discuss some interesting adaptations as well as relationships with wildlife.
