The 4th Annual Oak Openings Summer Bird Count

The Oaks Summer Bird Count yielded 110 species last year. We’ll try to at least match that number again, but more importantly, simply enjoy a day of birding in the Oak Openings. The day will start at 5 a.m. at the McDonald’s at 14225 Airport Hwy, Swanton, OH for breakfast, some strategizing, and assigning of territories. Everyone will then spread out over the count area for a fun day of birding with their group. Birders are then invited to join the countdown at Local Thyme in Whitehouse at 2 p.m. Contact Brandon Brywczynski at 419-944-3951 or brandon13@roadrunner.com if you would like to join in the fun (RSVP not required, but preferred). If you are interested in being a group leader for the count or plan to do any owling, please contact Brandon before the count.
