The Sandhill Crane Story in Ohio: Recovery, Status and Going Forward

The Toledo Naturalist Association presents: The Sandhill Crane Story in Ohio: Recovery, Status and Going Forward

A Zoom presentation by Tom Leiden

Please join Tom Leiden, board member of the International Crane Foundation, as he talks about the remarkable comeback of the iconic Sandhill Crane in the state of Ohio. These majestic birds were nearly extirpated from Ohio in the 1930s.

Today, cranes can be observed once again in our skies and nesting in the wetlands. Tom will discuss the recovery, behavior, and current status of Sandhill Cranes in Ohio. Opportunity will be presented for assisting in the Midwest Crane Count on April 9, 2022.
