Walk at Irwin Prairie

Take a walk with Preserve Manager Maureen Bogdanski and enjoy the sights and blooms of late summer at Irwin Prairie State Nature Preserve, the finest remaining sedge meadow in the state. The 1- 1/4 mile boardwalk loop will take us through mesic tallgrass prairie, sedge and grass meadows, shrub swamp, and pin oak flatwoods. Learn about management efforts used to maintain the various habitats for the species who call the preserve home. Comfortable walking shoes and long pants are recommended.
