EDUCATORS WORKSHOP
- September 17th, 2021
- Oak Openings Metropark, Whitehouse, OH
Join The Nature Conservancy, Metroparks Toledo, and Lucas County Soil and Water for a free, full-day workshop to learn how to integrate local Oak Openings ecology and geology into the classroom. Funded by a grant from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund, participating teachers will receive a letter of contact hours for CEU credits; elementary school educators will receive a complete set of supplies, and Highschool educators will receive bus funding for a class trip to the Oak Openings. Graduate credits also available from Lourdes University.
Participating educators will be asked to implement a minimum of one of the lesson plans in their classroom and provide a digital portfolio documenting their experience. CLICK HERE FOR PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS . There will be additional opportunities for engagement in Spring 2022.
Middle school teachers that are interested in learning about the Oak Openings are invited to register for the teacher workshops, but may not be eligible for classroom supplies or field trips unless they find one of the lesson plans appropriate for implementation in their classroom.
